The virus is a hoax
Claimed for: The existence and severity of COVID-19
The claim that the pandemic was invented or wildly exaggerated, evidenced by videos of quiet hospital corridors.
01The claim
As told: hospitals were empty, the "casedemic" was an artefact of testing, and the whole event was a manufactured pretext for control. The #FilmYourHospital campaign of March 2020 asked people to go and prove it.
02Origin
The claim spread from a handful of viral posts in March 2020 and was amplified by political figures and by monetised social accounts. The empty-corridor footage was mostly real footage of the wrong places: elective surgery had been cancelled, waiting rooms had been cleared to prevent transmission, and COVID wards were closed to visitors and cameras.

04What's known
Excess mortality settles this independent of any test, diagnosis or government figure: it counts how many more people died than would normally have died. Every major independent estimate found a very large global excess through 2020-21, in the range of 14-18 million, with sharp national spikes matching outbreak timing — Bergamo, Guayaquil, Manaus, Delhi. Countries that reported few COVID deaths still show the excess. A hoax does not produce bodies, and it does not produce them in the same weeks in dozens of unconnected countries.
Documented risk
People acted on this claim: delayed care, refused oxygen and died of a disease they did not believe in, some of them recanting from hospital beds.
